20260611 Plenum

From The Munich Maker Lab's Wiki

The Plenum is a regular meeting of all people involved with the space to talk about things and decide stuff. If you have any topics to add, go right ahead! Please sign your points with your name (by adding a "--~~~~" after your text).

After the Plenum, please follow the tasks outlined in Cycling the Plenum to archive the discussion.

Preamble

  • The Plenum is an institution to decide what the space should look like, physically and in other ways, such as virtually.
  • Things concerning the space should be discussed at a plenum.
  • Everyone on-site can participate in that process, member or otherwise.
  • Everyone can lead a plenum; no need for board members to do that.
  • Topics should ideally be announced on the Plenum wiki page beforehand.
  • The Plenum should be held in a language that everyone participating understands.
  • Scheduling: Second Thursday of the month at 8 pm and the last Saturday after the cleanup (which starts at 4 PM)
  • Plenums should be no longer than 90 minutes.

These are the adventures of the starship enterprise notes of the plenum that took place on Thursday, 11.06.2026 at 8 PM

Projects & Groups update

This is a quick update from group meetings at our space, other long-term space projects (e.g., Lasercutter, CNC, etc.) or of the lab internal projects.

  • The "new" second hand cordless drills arrived. So we have in total 3 fully functional Metabo drills and one with broken break, that still works more or less and can be used for spare parts. The devices will be available soon, just need to get proper labels. -- Milian
  • Offene Werkstätten Stammtisch Nr.3 happened yesterday together with Werkbox3 and Treibgut and was great success. Much more people came than expected and it was a really great relaxed event. -- Milian
  • Freifunk Router was installed yesterday on the Freifunk Stammtisch. Now we offer proper Freifunk via dedicated access point again -- Milian

Kreativlabor Open Event 19th to 21th of June

Short reminder: We will host a full weekend event together with alle the other great initiatives on the Kreativ Labor Area.

We need more people who support for bring up and tours during the event on the weekend. Please check #kreativlabor in Slack and vote on the days when you will support.

Please also bring your favorite demonstration projects to the lab as well!

Important note: The space will not be usable for private projects during this event. Starting from Friday evening to Sunday evening.

Vorstand updates

  • Change one quarter storage box to textile box: It's very likely that two quarter storage boxes will get free soon. We should consider to change one quarter storage box and make one more textile box. We recently got much more textil equipment like the new button presses and also the embroidery machine from Aaron does not have a proper place. Furthermore, it would make sense to buy some more proper transparent boxes instead of the euroboxes for the textiles storage boxes, so it's easier to see what we have. Regarding cash: Of course we need somehow the cash from the storage boxes, but it makes more sense to improve our tooling. Any opinions on this? -- Milian
    • We'll see if we need the space. Currently Karl's box is free, but we'll keep it free until Aaron has looked into whether we need the space

What would you like to change or to be changed? Anything you don't feel comfortable with within the space?
