20260530 Plenum

From The Munich Maker Lab's Wiki

The Plenum is a regular meeting of all people involved with the space to talk about things and decide stuff. If you have any topics to add, go right ahead! Please sign your points with your name (by adding a "--~~~~" after your text).

After the Plenum, please follow the tasks outlined in Cycling the Plenum to archive the discussion.

Preamble

  • The Plenum is an institution to decide what the space should look like, physically and in other ways, such as virtually.
  • Things concerning the space should be discussed at a plenum.
  • Everyone on-site can participate in that process, member or otherwise.
  • Everyone can lead a plenum; no need for board members to do that.
  • Topics should ideally be announced on the Plenum wiki page beforehand.
  • The Plenum should be held in a language that everyone participating understands.
  • Scheduling: Second Thursday of the month at 8 pm and the last Saturday after the cleanup (which starts at 4 PM)
  • Plenums should be no longer than 90 minutes.

Next Plenum: Saturday, 30.05.2026 after the cleanup (around 6:00 PM)

Projects & Groups update

This is a quick update from group meetings at our space, other long-term space projects (e.g., Lasercutter, CNC, etc.) or of the lab internal projects.

A lot of stuff is happening at the moment. It's hard to catch up at the moment. Please check slack for all the recent updates!

New Fridge

We got a new drinks fridge. Proposal for the old one: give it away for free e.g. on the Kreativlabor Open. Otherwiese dispose it at the recycling center. -- Milian

Update Website and Meetup

Our homepage and meetup page got quite a big update and is much more polished now.

Check them out: https://www.meetup.com/munichmakerlab/ & www.munichmakerlab.de

New and easier donation possiblities

We are trying now to have paypal and iban QR codes for better digital donation support. At the lab we have QR codes and link added to the donation boxes and on the homepage a new donation tab was introduced. -- Milian

Offene Werkstätten Stammtisch

Save the date! On the 10th of June we will host the next round of the "Open Workshop Stammtisch" for interested member and guests of other open workshops in and around Munich. This is the 3rd episode and we are hosting it together with Werkbox3 and Treibgut.

It will be also a great chance to explore the other mentioned two place for our member, so make sure to come around!

At the moment Milian, Chris and Nico will organize it from our side.

Reminder: Kreativlabor Open Festival – June 19–21

The full schedule will be published soon on the official website: https://kreativlabor-open.de/

Our Munich Maker Lab program is already live on Meetup — check it out and RSVP: https://www.meetup.com/munichmakerlab/events/314939083/

Want to be part of our program?

Join the #kreativlaboropen channel! We're looking for helping hands to set things up, run short guided tours (like on our open Thursdays)or bring your own ideas — we're still very open to new ones! There will also be more calls for participation in the specific topic channels.

Shortly before the festival, we'll invite everyone to bring their favourite projects to the lab for our demo tables — so start prepping your coolest builds now!

Bonus: On Saturday, June 20, Propeller Liebes Allianz 3000 will join us with some DJ love! We warmly invite all guests, makers, families, and friends to hang out at the space in the afternoon and evening.

Vorstand updates

  • Toilets: We got some remarks from our neighbours, that the toilets are not left as nice as usual in the last weeks: Please double check as in our space to leave everything nicely and report and issues e.g. in #general or #infrastructure. Furthermore, when hosting an event please check before closing the space, that the toilets are also nice an clean -- Milian
  • Asbest: On the Kreativlabor Area some Asbest was found, but in an other building and in drywalls. There will be checks made in all buildings in the next month. We assume our space will not affected. -- Milian

What would you like to change or to be changed? Anything you don't feel comfortable with within the space?

Things to Buy

(Per-plenum spending limit for purchases that belong together: 250€. Larger amounts go through a loomio poll.
To get back your paid money send the invoice(s) to finance@munichmakerlab.de within 3 month. Extension of this time-frame needs to be approve by the Plenum beforehand. Make sure to have a separated invoice for Lab purchases)

  • Replacement for the Metabo drill that breaks so often: 85€ for second hand version + other second hand one without batteries (48€). Then we have three which makes more sense, since they are used so much and we have the fourth for repair work. If we do not get the second hand versions available, we will just buy one more for the moment-- Milian
    • Approved
  • New power distribution for the workshop: For the new workbench we will need new power multiple sockets. 80€ for 4 sockets (with long cable)
    • Approved
  • Porthole (Bullauge) for the door between community area and workshop. Prevents collisions and is a nice touch. 50€
    • Approved, but we'll wait up to one month for Valentin to DIY one for less

Items which will be refunded by the Kreativlabor Open budget:
