Projects & Groups update
This is a quick update from group meetings at our space, other long-term space projects (e.g., Lasercutter, CNC, etc.) or of the lab internal projects.
Offene Werkstätten Stammtisch München
There is an "Stammtisch" ongoing now from time to time for open workshop members in the Munich area. In February it was at Teamwerk in Aschheim and in May it's at Nagel & Faden in Geretsried.
Idea: Together with Werkbox3 invite other Workshops on the 10th of June to the Kreativlabor. Make a tour through our workshop and the Werkbox3 and then get together at Werkbox3 fire pit? Would be also a good chance for our Member to get a exclusive tour in the Werkbox3 to see, what they are offering at the moment.
Does the date look good? Anyone else interested in joing to organize it?
-- Milian
workshop: free2use workbench from Martin
As mentioned already in slack in #workshop: Should we keep the mobile workbench from Martin in the lab? He offered we can have it free2use, because he won't use it at home anymore or should he take it home again?
It's quite sturdy and has nice clamps. Could be a good extension as long we don't have more advanced workbenches in the lab.

Belt- and Discsander arrived
Loomio poll ended with 81% in favor for the Belt- and Discsander. It already arrived and is now ready to use. --Philipp
Kreativlabor Open update
- On 17. April we handed in our program.
- We got confirmation from Propeller.Liebes.Allianz.3000 that they'll do the DJ Set on Saturday starting at 3 PM.
- Next in person meeting with the Labor e.V. will be on WED 29.4.
- Funding and how to get money still in progress.
- Some guys from the Kreativquartier want to make a yard sale (Flohmarkt) during the Kreativlabor Open (on Saturday). Are you guys (question to the Plenum) also interested to sell some stuff?
CNC update
Spoil board bought and cut to fit. Needs now to be fixed to the bed and planed.
Alu profiles for case are already ordered. --Philipp
Meeting of the course instructors
Next Wednesday (29.4.) there will be a meeting of all course instructors. We did this in December 2024 for the first time to get an overview of the courses (how does it go; what's the utilization; what can be improved) and to reward the course instructors with a visit to the beer garden. Last year it didn't happen so we want to do it this year earlier.
Please note the the community area is occupied on that day from 6 PM to around 7:30. --Milian & Philipp
Pinball machine
The pinball machine needs some love:
- The batteries needs to be replaced.
- When you press both finger buttons (left and right) at the same time longer than one second the machine reboots completely --Philipp
Electronics Corner Update
The power distribution got updated. The idea is, that you only have to activate the main switch and then just one more switch to activate the device. Also the soldering stations are better organized together. I hope it stay better organized now. One more update for the main power switch is planned in the future. -- Milian
Vorstand updates
Parking Space and Yard
Long term the parking space in the yard at the wall need to be rented one by one. They will cost 80€ + taxes. So it will not be so easy in the future to park here for free. We need to decide if we want to rent one long term. The space at the corner next to our entry is not supposed to be a parking space and also not ment to be storage space. So seems to be a long term dead space. The part directly in front of your rolling gates is accepted by the landlord as urban gardening, because it seems like there is some funding for such projects, therefore the landlord allows us this area for free at the moment. Nevertheless, we should try to get more stuff in our future rental contract to avoid conflicts.
Electric Bill
Since June 2025 we have a own power measurement meter. It was not clear when we have to pay for it. At the moment it's not really clear if we have to pay the full electric bill for 2025. At least we will get 600€ from the landlord, but hope to get the full amount from 2025, because they landlord did not properly announce that we have to pay the full amount already starting in June. If you remember we original thought we need to pay the full amount starting in 2026, thats what we orignally calculated. So discussion is still ongoing here.
Heating costs in 2027
It's very likely, that we will need some more income next year to cover the heating. One option is to rise sligthly the member fee (around 5€) per month. The alternative would be to get more funding as well, but we need more people who support here, because in the Vorstand there is no capacity to cover this topic addtionally. We probably need minimum of 5.000 to 10.000€ more per year, but calculation is not really done so far. Please join in slack #funding, if you want to support.
Guests at the lab
At the moment we have a few guests from time to time in the lab, which are not really working here on projects and just get a drink an go away. That is not how it is intended to be and everyone is asked to have an eye on the space, so that the people behave nicely. Everyone is invited as guest to come to the lab and work here, but not just to get stuff and go away.
What would you like to change or to be changed? Anything you don't feel comfortable with within the space?
- How can we achieve that machines are better maintained (or maintained on a regular basis)? Let's discuss --Philipp
- Idea: Add it to the Cleanup list of things to do?
- Add a "last maintained on ..." sign directly to the machines. Adrian takes this task.
- A few things like metal saw or our electric caliper run away. We need to keep more an eye on this. Our tools are not meant to get lend. If it's an urgent case it must be added to the stuff-on-mission page: https://wiki.munichmakerlab.de/wiki/Stuff_on_a_mission

To get back your paid money send the invoice(s) to finance@munichmakerlab.de; make sure to have a separated invoice for Lab purchases)
- Weller Soldering Iron LR21: Our soldering station Mr. Green does not reach more than 320°C. I switched the soldering Iron and it seems just one iron has issues. The Weller stations are quite solid and the parts are usually super expensive even second hand, but I found a good offering for 53€ on Kleinanzeigen inclusive shipping. New ones cost more than 150€. Even if we might get some other soldering station in the future, we should still keep the Weller stations, because they are simple and reliable. Request for 53€ for second hand Weller soldering iron LR21 -- Milian

Get Involved
If you want to be mentioned at the previous section as well, one of the easiest ways is to take one of our MiniJobs or to get involved in one of our Lab Projects. This is a great way to participate in the Munich Maker Lab and contributing time helps to keep our space in a good shape.
Current key topics looking for additional support:
- Social Media: We need more support of people, who sent photos of activities and projects. it would be even better, if we have some more people who prepare and make posts.
Social Media is important for us to get more funding and are better visible to the other people on the area and in the politics. -- Milian
- Mini-Jobs:
We really need more people who work on Mini-Job and to regular cleanups in specific areas and people who help with buying consumeables
