Projects & Groups update
This is a quick update from group meetings at our space, other long-term space projects (e.g., Lasercutter, CNC, etc.) or of the lab internal projects.
Laser Cutter Chiller replacement
New chiller for lasercutter was installed and laser is usable again.
We should get rid of the old chiller. At first the idea popped up to re-use it for something, but technically it makes not really much sense. The device is super old, water leaks a bit, it's loud, big and needs probably a lot of power.
Request for disposal => Approved uanimously
3D printer lambu repaired
Filament Sensor cable got broken. Replacement already installed and Lambu is back!
Stahlwerk Welder repaired
Our welding machine from Stahlwerk had a brooken voltage regulation. It was just one cable loose. We hope it stays functional now. I will add a hint to the Welder wiki page. -- Milian
MuMaExpress
If you have ideas and whishes for our MuMaExpress Vending machine please add the items to the wishlist: Vending Machine
Next options for some community event:
- Halloween: we had a great halloween event last year. Should we do it again? Who wants to organize?
- We'll write it into the calendar, ChrisB and Adrian will be there
- Christmas: Looking for someone who wants to organize? => This year I want to realize the "Portal Christmas Tree". What else do we want to do regarding Christmas? --Phier
- 27.12. Party at the Lab, we'll write it into the Calendar
- Chaos Computer Congress Remote: => contact Karl on slack, if you are interested
Chaos Computer Congress 2025:
If you plan to be onsite this year, join #39c3 on slack
New meetup group for RC models
Nico created new meetup group for exchange about radio controlled vehicels/drones: join #rc-models in slack if you are interested
We have some more meetup groups in the Munich Maker Lab, who meet regularly: #freifunk and #amateurfunk. Join in the channels, if you are interested.
Own ticket instance
Our own pretix ticket instance will start soon. At the moment we still use a pretix of a former member, which will phase out the old instance soon. -- Milian
Workshop Stuff

Router jig
Jonathan has build a planing jig for our Dewalt hand router and wants to ask if the Lab needs it. It can be hung on a wall in the workshop.
Measurements: Table top 150 x 90 cm; Sled 110 x 16 x 7 cm; Rails 120 x 6 cm
If the Lab wants it we would need some parts to mount it on the wall, see things to buy. --Jonathan & --Phier
=> Approved, thank you :)
Plunge saw and guide rails
The saw blade is super dull and the guide rail is messed up at one side. Last Plenum the question arose as to whether we not only need a new guide rail and saw blade but also a whole new plunge saw. The Scheppach saw is 8 years old and used quite often (probably due to not being a locked device) and could break anytime soon. Therefore I suggest to buy this Scheppach set which contains a plunge saw (same specs as the current one), two saw blades and two 700mm long guide rails which can be mount together (so we would have a long one [1400mm] and two short ones) for 140,-€. The old saw can be sold then. --Phier
Parts value of big CNC
In the last Plenum it was decided that we don't want to keep the CNC and that an estimate is made of how much the parts are worth. A table of the main parts and their original price can be found bellow.
My suggestion is that we keep the metal table and the Alu-profiles which forms the upper case. The table was made by a former member and is super sturdy, has a decent size and is a good base for a workbench. The Alu-profiles can be reused for a case for a possible new CNC. --Phier
Considering the original prices and the age of the parts it would be: 600,-€ for the CNC without the metal table and the Alu-profiles.
For the whole CNC with everything on it: 950,-€
- We don't want to keep the table. A new CNC will probably come with a table and this table is only useful for a mill of exactly this size.
- We think 800€ as a negotiable asking price is more useful (the buyer will have to take the whole thing)
- Marco will set up a taskforce to find out what we want to do with the space. Contact him directly or look into the #workshop channel if you want to participate.
- We will set up a kleinanzeigen posting by end of next week at the latest.

Unauthorized fires at Kreativlabor — please stay alert!
It seems that some random people have been starting fires at the Kreativlabor over the past few weeks, creating makeshift fire pits out of various materials in random spots. This poses a serious safety risk, for example behind our building near the small school garden.
If you notice anything suspicious on the Kreativlabor grounds, please double-check the situation and contact the police if you’re unsure. -- Milian
Vorstand updates
- Handover is in progress
- Handover is used to cleanup all kind of orga topics (key storage, digital documents, accounts) and make sure the club has ownership directly on all of his important services
- plan to get in touch with our neighbours soon to refresh our connection and talk about current topics
- Computer-Robert told us that Marius from Halle6 is a good contact point. He is apparently pulling the strings over there and has good leverage regarding the people living there.
- first rough planning regarding missing member fees is in done. More updates will follow soon.
- dedicated nextcloud taskboard created for Vorstand to coordinate the new Vorstandscrew
- there was a meet and greet with the Bezirksausschuss and other cultural clubs. Was nice to get in touch e.g. with people from Toolwood, Werkbox, Imal or Mucca and some politicians.
- Kreativlabor e.V. General assembly took place regarding the rising rent on the Kreativlabor area. Nothing really new for us. We will inform as soon there are bigger updates.
- there will be a next edition of the Kreativ Labor Open event next year somewhere in June 2026. Stay tuned for the final date.
Update of the former "MiniJobs" section in the plenum
I want to update the MiniJob section on the plenum and transform it more into a general invite to participate. I started with an example below. If there are not votes against, I will update the plenum template as well. Everybody is invited to note current topics, where support is needed. -- Milian
Get Involved
If you want to be mentioned at the previous section as well, one of the easiest ways is to take one of our MiniJobs or to get involved in one of our Lab Projects.
This is a great way to participate in the Munich Maker Lab e.V. and contributing time helps to keep our space in a good shape.
Current key topics looking for additional support:
- SocialMedia Team needs more member. Contact Milian if you are interested
- Support the course instructor group and help new member to get to know our tools: We are searching at the moment for more instructors for our regular 3D printing, Mini CNC and also for a new welding introduction course
- More workshop events: Got a cool project or special expertise to share? Whether it’s PCB design, building custom sensors, or mastering a unique tool – our members would love to learn from you! Host a one-time workshop and inspire others with your knowledge. It’s a great way to showcase your skills, connect with fellow makers, and keep our community learning together.
- Support the lab with re-supply ordering. We need some people who want to care long term e.g. to buy new MDF material for the laser cutter or other resupplies like paper towels etc.
Stuff from the past
What was discussed at the last Plenum? What's the current status of those things? 20251011_Plenum
- New water cooler for the Laser
- How to proceed with the storage boxes?
- Reanimation of the Awarness Team
- Neighbors camera pointing at the Lab => there will be a get together with several neighbours in the next weeks and I will talk with them about the current topics. Please avoid to escalate anything at the moment, especally not to our landlord as long there is no fixed contract for the space. We probably benefit the most from a good relationship to all of our neighbours -- Milian
Ozone Generator
Computer Robert built a Box for an Ozone generator. It's useful for immediately and almost completely removing the smell off of lasercutter parts and also removing most other odors from other tings. He would like to lend it to the space indefinitely. You're free to use it, just don't breathe in the ozone (toxic)
=> Approved
Storage Box
- We want to change the wikipage to the following aspects:
- Storage Boxes are only for stuff that you regularly use in the Space. Non-Compliance will result in you not having a Storage Box anymore
- The temporary Storage Boxes will stay for now.
Anything you don't feel comfortable with within the space? What would you like to change or to be changed?
Lately, there’s been more and more stuff from different projects left standing around in the lab without any note or approval from the plenum. Please make sure to follow our rules and label or store your projects properly. Remember, this is an open workshop with lots of people working here.
Also, please check with the plenum or ask on Slack before bringing larger donations or materials to the lab. Most donations are great and useful, but sometimes we end up with items that no one can use – like the former UV-C light donation box –and it becomes a hassle to dispose of them. -- Milian
- What is the current state of the big 3D printer which is blocking the whole project pallet? When will it be removed? --Phier
- Olek brought it here. I (Adrian) have already told him 2 weeks ago (as a kind reminder) to take it back home. The next time I'll see him I'll tell him to take it back home. If he doesn't want it it will be free to use.
Outsourcing our mail setup
Currently we run our own mailservers to deal with our mailinglists, newsletters, mails from the wiki etc. The current setup is a bit old, and we don't really dare to touch it, yet we need to change around a few things. So instead of trying to make due with what's there, we would like to move this into managed hosting, by another non-profit org, Individual Network Berlin e.V. (recommended to us by FabLab Munich). They can host our mailing lists, but also provide us with dedicated mailboxes, which our current setup cannot. Estimated cost is 5€ per month, but we're still clarifying what kind of package we will actually need from them.
Before moving ahead with them, we wanted to give a quick headsup and see whether there are any other valuable inputs. --Tiefpunkt (talk) 22:12, 23 October 2025 (UTC)
- Nothing to add from the Plenum - go ahead :)
Things for Newsletter, Social Media & Website News
