The Plenum is a regular meeting of all people involved with the space to talk about things and decide stuff. If you have any topics to add, go right ahead! Please sign your points with your name (by adding a "--~~~~" after your text).

After the Plenum, please follow the tasks outlined in Cycling the Plenum to archive the discussion.

Preamble

  • The Plenum is an institution to decide what the space should look like, physically and in other ways, such as virtually.
  • Things concerning the space should be discussed at a plenum.
  • Everyone on-site can participate in that process, member or otherwise.
  • Everyone can lead a plenum; no need for board members to do that.
  • Topics should ideally be announced on the Plenum wiki page beforehand.
  • The Plenum should be held in a language that everyone participating understands.
  • Scheduling: Second Thursday of the month at 8 pm and the last Sunday after the cleanup (which starts at 11 am)
  • Plenums should be no longer than 90 minutes.

These are the notes of the Plenum which took place on: Thursday, Dec 12th at 8pm

Projects & Groups update

This is a quick update from group meetings at our space, other long-term space projects (e.g., Lasercutter, CNC, etc.) or of the lab internal projects.

  • All course instructors have met last week to talk about various course related stuff like: What is going well, what could be improved, how many people have attended this year, ideas for the future, etc.
After the meeting we went together to the Christmas market "Märchenbazar" at Olympiapark. --Phier
  • At that meeting it came up that we want to have more instructors for the "Workshop Safety Instruction" and the "CNC Beginner Training" course. Anyone interested on that?
Also: If someone wants to do a 3D printing advance course (different materials; setting up custom supports; custom settings) it would be highly appreciated!
  • We're trying to set up pretix (https://pretix.eu/about/en/) to have our own solution for booking the courses again (currently in HoM hands iirc)

Vorstand updates

Say Thank you

  • Francesco for building a new pair of wood protection covers for our vice in the workshop (the old ones have been broken)
  • Aaron and Philipp for replacing the laser cutter ventilation start switch.
  • ChrisB and Roger for installing a cutlery organizer into the kitchen cutlery drawer
  • Alex for putting away the halloween decorations

MiniJobs

If you want to be mentioned at the previous section as well, one of the easiest ways is to take one of our MiniJobs. This is a great way to participate in the Munich Maker Lab e.V. and contributing time helps keeping our space in a good shape. You can find all information about the scope of the available jobs on MiniJobs.

Stuff from the past

Christmas Get Together

Let's use the last Open Thursday before Christmas 19.12 for a Christmas get together and having some fun time. Just some "Glühwein" and heating up the fire pit? Everyone brings some Plätzchen and co.? Maybe re-using Glühwein from Haloween? -- Milian

  • definitely got some interest :)

Decoration Storage

The space in the basement starting at the Server Rack up to the end of the "Trench" will be used for decoration storage (e.g. christmas, halloween, easter) => Approved unanimously

Mak(e)athon 27.12 - 30.12.

Let's do a "Mak(e)athon" in the days between Christmas and New Year's.
There is no strict schedule or concrete plans what should be done or happen during these days. Just stop by when you have time, let's talk about ideas/projects, consume leftover Christmas chocolate, watch some 38c3 talks and work on some "Someone should" projects.
Would be nice to see some people around in the space. --Phier

Request for space usage for a small gathering

Just a quick request about whether we can use the space during the night of silvester (new year) to have a small gathering like last year. Me and some of my chinese student friend want to celebrate the new year a little bit as we do not have time during the normal chinese new year, and would like to come toghether and make some hotpots as well as dumplings. As all of us lives in very small student dormitory we cannot find space at home big enough to hold the gathering, and would like to quequest just like what we did last year to use the space during this occation as normally its relative empty on that day, if we do not have anything planned. That means we would cook a bit and rearrange the table a bit to eat hotpot toghether. The space will still be usable but some working spaces especially around the kitchen will be occupied for cooking. It will be returned to normal after the gatering on the same day. --Spacezhang (talk) 19:59, 12 December 2024 (CET)

  • 31.12.2024 - 01.01.2025
  • Approved by everyone
  • if someone wants to join, talk to Justin/SpaceZhang

Anything you don't feel comfortable with within the space? What would you like to change or to be changed?

Things for Newsletter, Social Media & Website News

Introduce Loomio poll

  • Quick suggestion from Korbinian about a possible 3D scanner for the space. Its compact so storage is not a problem and the resolution of 0.02mm also is very good and will enable people to skip 3d modelling non mechanical parts and make organic modelling / repair of broken parts easier. Something like Creality Otter was suggested which is currently 699 Euro and even cheaper with some more rabatt.
    • We'll do a "scan your things"-Workshop once where Korbinian brings his device to see if there's actual interest in having a device like this
    • Handheld scanners are getting better fast, so we should wait on buying one

Things to Buy

  • up 20 € for some flat rods, slot nuts and screw for properly mounting the lasercutter honeycomb --David (talk) 21:50, 11 December 2024 (CET)
    • approved
  • up to 60€ for a 3 set of Schreinerwinkel. The one we got is lose. Like this . Chris K
