The Plenum is a regular meeting of all people involved with the space to talk about things and decide stuff. If you have any topics to add, go right ahead! Please sign your points with your name (by adding a "--~~~~" after your text).

After the Plenum, please follow the tasks outlined in Cycling the Plenum to archive the discussion.

Preamble

  • The Plenum is an institution to decide what the space should look like, physically and in other ways, such as virtually.
  • Things concerning the space should be discussed at a plenum.
  • Everyone on-site can participate in that process, member or otherwise.
  • Everyone can lead a plenum; no need for board members to do that.
  • Topics should ideally be announced on the Plenum wiki page beforehand.
  • The Plenum should be held in a language that everyone participating understands.
  • Scheduling: Second Thursday of the month at 8 pm and the last Sunday after the cleanup (which starts at 11 am)
  • Plenums should be no longer than 90 minutes.

These are the notes of the plenum that took place on Sunday, 24.11.2024 at 11AM

Topics for the Plenum

What are you currently working on?

  • Milian: Car repair
  • Aaron: Deliberating whether to keep DIY led strip code oder switch to WLED
  • Bira: compiling blender for Raspberry Pi 5
  • Ivan: Box for 3D printer transport (searching wood)
  • Adrian: Adopting things into Homeassistant; writing wiki articles
  • Chris: Buit the StatusSign with Adrian; Waiting for DPD to deliver more speakers; Installing more WLED into the space
  • David: Car repair things as the TÜV complained :(

Projects & Groups update

This is a quick update from group meetings at our space, other long-term space projects (e.g., Lasercutter, CNC, etc.) or of the lab internal projects.

  • Infrastructure:
    • we have a homeassistant now! you can read about it in the wiki page
    • Ethernet port 6 is not giving DHCP (or internet in general?) => we'll have to look into that
  • 3D Printing:
    • Ivan is building a box for the Artillery Sidewinder so that people don't have to worry about breaking it so much when taking it home
    • We're printing some stuff for the Christmas tree - everyone else is also welcome to bring their own ornaments to donate :)

Vorstand updates

  • Meeting the MGH Elektroplaner, also talking to them about proper control for our heating
  • Phier proposed that the people that gave courses over the year get invited to a Christmas market on the Lab as a thank you => approved unanimously
  • David wrote bambu multiple times - they didn't answer
    • Loomio poll is starting today

Say Thank you

  • Thanks to Christian B. & Adrian for installing Home Assistant and the "OPEN" LED sign + updating all the LED stuff in the lab.
  • Milian for bringing stuff to the Wertstoffhof
  • Phier for getting the Christmas Tree
  • David for replacing the leaky faucet

MiniJobs

If you want to be mentioned at the previous section as well, one of the easiest ways is to take one of our MiniJobs. This is a great way to participate in the Munich Maker Lab e.V. and contributing time helps keeping our space in a good shape. You can find all information about the scope of the available jobs on MiniJobs.

  • It appears to not be working this way anymore
  • We'll set up a table of things that have to be done regularly and a cadence of when they need to be done
  • When someone did the task they write in their name (if they want to) and when it's supposed to be done next onto it
  • We will **eventually** make it smart and blinking

Christmas Tree

As decided at the last Plenum we have now a Christmas tree. We already put it up to see how big it is. The position isn't final and can be discussed at this Plenum or on Slack.
The seller gave me on top one box of ornaments/decoration and one with lametta/garlands (stored on top of the laser lounge). --Phier (talk) 22:55, 23 November 2024 (CET)

Stuff from the past

What was discussed at the last Plenum? What's the current status of those things? 20241114 Plenum

  • Kreativlabor open 2025 still not final

Anything you don't feel comfortable with within the space? What would you like to change or to be changed?

The Projectbox 2 is occupied by a beehive for over a year now and there has been exactly zero progress on that "project". i suggest we urge the owner of the hive to remove it or make the beehive become property of the Space, to free up the box for other members. BotoxBitch - But will it Parkside (talk)

    • We think there has been sparse but continuous progress, notheless it not in the spirit of the project boxes to occupy them for a year. David will get in contact

The big CNC Mill is not really getting anywhere and it doesn't quite "pay off" the footprint its taking up with usefullness

  • Adrian will talk to Bernhard about what he thinks about it
  • We'll gather a list of tools that would be more usefull in that space
  • We'll look into making/buying a "Multi purpose table" with a table saw and a router etc. and putting it in the center of the workshop
  • We might also buy a https://carbide3d.com/shapeoko/

All these things are only ideas for now - a proper discussion will ensue before we actually buy/throw out things

  • We will have a meeting to discuss the "Future of the Workshop" as a whole

The drill presses are still broken

  • David and Aaron will ask people from the Werkbox what would be needed to repair them and if it's worth it

Things for Newsletter, Social Media & Website News

  • Post to the open sign
  • Loomio poll for bambu printer

Introduce Loomio poll

David will set live a Loomio poll today for purchasing the P1S as we did not hear back from Bamboo regarding a free unit.

Things to Buy

  • Here is a list of things that we should hereby decide to put into the Consumables page:
    • Electrical & double-sided tape
    • Filament for Lab use (any kind of material, not only PLA)
    • CO2 Cartridges for the Sodaclub
    • Heat Shrink
    • Cartridges for the label writers
    • Foils for the laminator
    • Disposable gloves
    • Zip Ties

  • Electric hand planer - something likeBosch Planer PHO 3100 (150€ at Amazon), but there are tons of them second hand in kleinanzeigen.de
    • Looks pretty dangerous and we don't know how often it will be used - we'll put it on the "things that would be nice for the workshop" list discussed above
