Projects & Groups update
This is a quick update from group meetings at our space, other long-term space projects (e.g., Lasercutter, CNC, etc.) or of the lab internal projects.
- The lasercutter’s MDF board storage is currently empty. We need someone who can purchase new MDF – ideally, someone who could take on this task regularly.-- Milian
- David will get some soon and document the process in the wiki so that anyone can do the task theoretically, we might even be able to find a supplier that can just deliver it to us
- Doorlock:
- replaced most of the wiring outside, trying to make that ratsnest of wires more resilient to the outside conditions.-- David
- IT:
- currently trying to get our own instance of Pretix to run as we have a deadline to get off the old instance.
Store lab projects better
After tidying up, the basement is now better organized. As a test, we've set up a dedicated area for boxes containing ongoing lab projects and replacement parts – such as for the Mini-CNC.
I believe it would make much more sense to differentiate more clearly: If it’s a private project, it belongs in the project palette or in personal project boxes; if it’s a lab project, it should be stored appropriately – such as dedicated storage in the basement. Currently, space projects tend to end up scattered or get mixed in with members' private boxes. Materials purchased by the lab should always be kept together in a designated location. This also ensures that if someone stops working on a lab project, any remaining materials will stay available for others to continue with the work.

Get rid of the space laptops?
We had space laptops in the past, but they are not maintained or really used anymore?
At the moment two are here and I think some more are on the shelves.
- The Idea is good in theory, but the ones we have are a bit too old to run anything useful on them. We won't throw them out yet.

Kitchen door is often unlocked
In the past few weeks, the kitchen door has been left unlocked several times. It seems people are closing it in the evenings, but not locking it properly—even though there’s a large sign as a reminder. I think it would be better to remove the handle on the outside of the kitchen door – that way, it couldn’t be opened from outside, even if it wasn't locked.
This issue probably won’t occur as often in winter, but it would be good to address it before next summer. If I find the time, I’ll take measurements and check if we can get a suitable exterior knob for the door -- Milian

MiniJobs
If you want to be mentioned at the previous section as well, one of the easiest ways is to take one of our MiniJobs.
This is a great way to participate in the Munich Maker Lab e.V. and contributing time helps keeping our space in a good shape.
You can find all information about the scope of the available jobs on MiniJobs.
- The fancy board for the minijobs is inching closer to getting done - Thank you ChrisB for working on it sometimes :)
Stuff from the past
What was discussed at the last Plenum? What's the current status of those things? 20250814_Plenum
Anything you don't feel comfortable with within the space? What would you like to change or to be changed?
- If a tool is broken, and doesn't work please write in slack or somewhere as it can be dangerous for people who use it without knowing
Things for Newsletter, Social Media & Website News
- We can take some pictures of the food for the cleanup later
Introduce Loomio poll
Things to Buy
- A glass grinder for smoothing glass edges and shaping glass. It would be useful for making and repairing stained glass art and lamps and things. They pop up on Kleinanzeigen around 50 Euros, or could be purchased new up to about 150 Euros. ~~Hannah~
- Budget is about 100€, put it in a box and maybe get some supples (glass cutter, copper tape) if there is money left over => Approved unanimously
- At the last Plenum, I requested funding for LEDs for the Electric Tree project. Unfortunately, I was unable to secure the favorable price I had planned, which means there isn’t enough money left for the power converter or to add interactivity. I’d therefore like to request an additional €40 in funding. More details on the plans can be found on the project’s wiki page. Electric-Tree -- Milian
- Approved Unanimously
