This is a quick update from group meetings at our space, other long-term space projects (e.g., Lasercutter, CNC, etc.) or of the lab internal projects.

; Accessing  LaserCAD or Slicer Software is limited.
Vorstand updates
:E.g., LaserCAD and the Slicer for the GermanRepRap is only accessible on the LaserPC. One option would be to provide VPN access to the LaserPC. However, currently only one Login-Session is allowed on that computer. Another option would be to move forward with a Windows Terminal Server that could also provide a plurality of parallel Sessions. Another option would be to have another LaserPC that is just providing the same software for people logging in from remote. Anyway, it would be preferable have the design/slicer software available from remote, so that people who come to the space do not necessarily have to use the software from within the space. People could use their time in the space to socialize more with people in the Space instead of doing isolating computer-oriented tasks.
** Progress concerning local installations:
*** LaserCAD can be installed in Wine, however it is not very usable when running in Wine
*** LaserCAD works flawlessly in a virtualboxed Windows installation. In ReactOS it is installable with the same trick as used for Wine, yet, the program does not start.

; Space projects - transparency (financially and otherwise)
: Lately, there seems to have been some resentment about the way projects the space finances are being done. In order to combat that, I would like to propose that bigger projects should be much more transparent about what is being done, and what that's going to cost (or has cost). This could be done with some sort of kick-off mail and a finalization mail to the mailing list. Longer projects might also post updates while they are being done. In a kick off email, people could describe their rough plan, and a rough estimate of cost. The finalization could also serve as some rough documentation hat was done by whom, and could thus be put in the wiki as well. --Tiefpunkt (talk) 13:22, 23 November 2016 (CET)
