* The Plenum is an institution to decide what the space should look like, physically and in other ways, such as virtually.
* Things concerning the space should be discussed at a plenum.
* Everyone on-site can participate in that process, member or otherwise.
* Everyone can lead a plenum; no need for board members to do that.
* Topics should ideally be announced on the Plenum wiki page beforehand.
* The Plenum should be held in a language that everyone participating understands.
* Scheduling: Second Thursday of the month at 8 pm and the last Sunday after the cleanup (which starts at 11 am)
* Plenums should be no longer than 90 minutes.

:E.g., LaserCAD and the Slicer for the GermanRepRap is only accessible on the LaserPC. One option would be to provide VPN access to the LaserPC. However, currently only one Login-Session is allowed on that computer. Another option would be to move forward with a Windows Terminal Server that could also provide a plurality of parallel Sessions. Another option would be to have another LaserPC that is just providing the same software for people logging in from remote. Anyway, it would be preferable have the design/slicer software available from remote, so that people who come to the space do not necessarily have to use the software from within the space. People could use their time in the space to socialize more with people in the Space instead of doing isolating computer-oriented tasks.

:** LaserCAD can be installed in Wine, however it is not very usable when running in Wine
If you want to be mentioned at the previous section as well, one of the easiest ways is to take one of our MiniJobs.
:** LaserCAD works flawlessly in a virtualboxed Windows installation. In ReactOS it is installable with the same trick as used for Wine, yet, the program does not start.
This is a great way to participate in the Munich Maker Lab e.V. and contributing time helps keeping our space in a good shape.

The Plenum is a regular meeting of all people involved with the space to talk about things and decide stuff. If you have any topics to add, go right ahead! Please sign your points with your name (by adding a "--~~~~" after your text).

After the Plenum, please follow the tasks outlined in Cycling the Plenum to archive the discussion.

Preamble

  • The Plenum is an institution to decide what the space should look like, physically and in other ways, such as virtually.
  • Things concerning the space should be discussed at a plenum.
  • Everyone on-site can participate in that process, member or otherwise.
  • Everyone can lead a plenum; no need for board members to do that.
  • Topics should ideally be announced on the Plenum wiki page beforehand.
  • The Plenum should be held in a language that everyone participating understands.
  • Scheduling: Second Thursday of the month at 8 pm and the last Sunday after the cleanup (which starts at 11 am)
  • Plenums should be no longer than 90 minutes.

Next Plenum: Thursday, Nov 14 at 8pm

Topics for the Plenum

What are you currently working on?

Projects & Groups update

This is a quick update from group meetings at our space, other long-term space projects (e.g., Lasercutter, CNC, etc.) or of the lab internal projects.

Vorstand updates

Say Thank you

  • David for fixing the Weller soldering iron (by soldering it with the other Weller soldering iron <3)
  • Adrian, Chris, Milian for re-hanging the black curtains as insulation on the doors and testing the heaters

MiniJobs

If you want to be mentioned at the previous section as well, one of the easiest ways is to take one of our MiniJobs. This is a great way to participate in the Munich Maker Lab e.V. and contributing time helps keeping our space in a good shape. You can find all information about the scope of the available jobs on MiniJobs.

Stuff from the past

Christmas tree

The holiday season is approaching pretty fast now so I have to ask this question:
Does the Lab want a Christmas tree?
If yes, a real one or a plastic one? (Plastic would be more sustainable in the long term)
If we get one shall we do some fancy project with it, like a portal Christmas tree or a RGB LED one?
For example: A 215 cm large one is currently on Kleinanzeigen for 60€. --Phier (talk) 22:51, 6 November 2024 (CET)

Anything you don't feel comfortable with within the space? What would you like to change or to be changed?

  • One of the big IKEA boxes on the 3D printer shelf is completely empty because all of the Lab-Filament fits in the second box. We could label and use the empty one for member Filament so it's stored in a dry environment (and not in a members box in the rather moistly pit). --Phier (talk) 08:51, 8 November 2024 (CET)
