The big drawers contain most of our electronical components of all kinds. Next to it we have smaller drawers for more parts, tools and also a lot of cables in the shelfs. Most parts are donations from external or members, but we also buy from time to time useful parts, especially for spcae projects. Often people need only a specific part for their project, but need to buy multiple components or sets and then they donate the remaining parts for the community.

Inventory
Inventory lists are hand-crafted to have the most universal and easy-to-use parts first. If you are unsure what to pick, look at the top of each list!
Diodes
classics
- 1N4148: a classic for logic signals (100V, 200mA, very fast at 4ns).
- 1N4007: standard, cheap, slow: Use for anything that switches at 5kHz or less (1kV, 1A, very slow at 1µs). We also have beefier variants 1N5408 and P600K for 3A and 6A.
- BA159: like 1N4007, but faster. As we have a lot of these there is no reason to use 1N4007 really (1kV, 1A, 50ns)
- Power Zone:
- BYW100-200: a good default pick (200V, 20A, 20ns)
- BYT16P400: TO-220, only use when more than 200V is needed (400V, 16A, 35ns)
- BYT08PI-200: TO-220, this one has an isolated metal tab which is handy if you need a cooler (200V, 8A, 35ns)
Schottky and Zener Diodes
The low voltage drop makes schottky diodes the default choice for reverse-polarity protecting current-hungrier devices
- 1N5818 30V
- PDS760Q 60V SMD
As for zeners, we have 3V3, 5V, and ECTE-5V tvd/esd diodes
Vintage Diodes
- BYT65-800R and 800RM: 65A/800V high-power, stud-mount
- BYS65-45: 65A/45V schottky rectifiers, stud-mount
Bipolar Transistors
Part numbers are NPN/PNP if we have both. Always double check pinouts with concrete part numbers as there are different conventions (CBE, EBC).
- BC547/BC557: the classic small-signal pair (45V, 100mA). Good for logic switching, signal amplification, and driving small loads like LEDs and small relays.
- ZTX851/ZTX951: superior to the BC547/557 in every way (45V, 5A). The ZTX851 is also a decent low-noise audio transistor. Sustained current should not be above 1A as the small package cannot dissipate much heat.
- D44H8/D45H8: TO-220, for when you need a heatsink (60V, 8A)
- TIP2955: PNP, for when you need a larger heatsink (60V, 15A)
Vintage Bipolars
All NPN.
- BU104: Ceramic TO-220. Originally designed for horizontal deflection in B&W TV sets.
- BUX53: Very pretty TO-3 can in silver and gold. High-voltage power transistor from the BUX48–BUX54 series (450V, 15A)
- 2N2222A: An iconic part of legend status, also in a metal can (40V, 800mA). Can be used like a BC547 — it handles 8× more current which is actually an advantage. Watch the pinout though.
- 2N2369A: a specialist, optimized for ultra-fast saturated switching. Its distinguishing feature is an extremely fast turn-off time. Low voltage rating (15V).
MOSFETs
- 2N7000: low-power N-channel (60V, 200mA). Logic-level gate threshold: turns on directly from a 3.3V or 5V microcontroller pin. The MOSFET equivalent of a BC547.
- IRLZ44N: the default choice for switching any load from a microcontroller (55V, 47A). Also fully turns on with 3.3V. The only downside to the 2N7000 is its larger size (and cost).
- IRF3205: when you need even more current (55V, 110A). Not logic-level, so needs a gate driver or 10V+ gate signal to turn on fully.
- IRF4905: P-channel companion to the IRLZ44N/IRF3205 for high-side switching (55V, 74A). P-channel gate drive is less intuitive, use only if you know you need it.
Voltage regulators
We have the classic 78xx/79xx parts for +-5V, +-12V. Then also LF33 3V3 LDO, and 317 (which is +1.25 to +37V adjustable).
