The Plenum is a regular meeting of all people involved with the space to talk about things and decide stuff. If you have any topics to add, go right ahead! Please sign your points with your name (by adding a "--~~~~" after your text).

After the Plenum, please follow the tasks outlined in Cycling the Plenum to archive the discussion.

Preamble

  • The Plenum is an institution to decide what the space should look like, physically and in other ways, such as virtually.
  • Things concerning the space should be discussed at a plenum.
  • Everyone on-site can participate in that process, member or otherwise.
  • Everyone can lead a plenum; no need for board members to do that.
  • Topics should ideally be announced on the Plenum wiki page beforehand.
  • The Plenum should be held in a language that everyone participating understands.
  • Scheduling: Second Thursday of the month at 8 pm and the last Sunday after the cleanup (which starts at 11 am)
  • Plenums should be no longer than 90 minutes.

These are the notes for the Plenum which took place on: Sunday, Jan 26th at 12pm (after the cleanup)

Topics for the Plenum

What are you currently working on?

  • Alessandro: cooking Tiramisu and Tacos
  • Bira: Bike headlamp
  • David: Job search
  • Alex: nothing (apart from cleaning the space)
  • Aaron: hopefully start with paperless-ngx

Projects & Groups update

This is a quick update from group meetings at our space, other long-term space projects (e.g., Lasercutter, CNC, etc.) or of the lab internal projects.

  • Save the date: On 12.03.2025 there will be a 3D scanning workshop in the Lab. Korbinian will present his Creality 3D scanner. We also want to compare it to 3D scanning Smartphone-Apps (Android) as well as to an iPhone with LiDAR.
For the last part we would need an iPhone 12 Pro (or newer). Who has (or knows someone) such an iPhone? --Phier (talk) 16:05, 24 January 2025 (UTC)
    • we put a place holder on the calendar. contact aaron if you want to add a time

Vorstand updates

David talked to local Green Party members about possible problems when we have to pay for electricity and heating, and they at least seemed open to help once it actually becomes a problem.

Say Thank you

  • Ivan and his father in law for fixing the imbalance on the big drill press.
  • Alex and Milian for emptying the garbage and plastic recycling bins.
  • Philipp and Milian for rearranging tools in the workshop into better boxes and improving the labeling.
  • Milian for refilling some consumeables in the E-Corner and the Workshop
  • Bernhard for taking care of the laser-cutter "gasdruckfedern"
  • David for buying new dust bags for the vacuum.

MiniJobs

If you want to be mentioned at the previous section as well, one of the easiest ways is to take one of our MiniJobs. This is a great way to participate in the Munich Maker Lab e.V. and contributing time helps keeping our space in a good shape. You can find all information about the scope of the available jobs on MiniJobs.

Stuff from the past

What was discussed at the last Plenum? What's the current status of those things? 20250109 Plenum

  • Electricians said they would work on stuff the whole past week, but apart from mounting the initial metal clamps nothing happened. So for now we do not know if we can close the workshop ceiling again.
  • We decide to give additional time for project box 2 until Jan 31st, but should be cleared out today
  • For project box 1 we decided to give one final extension until Thursday Jan 30th at 16:00
  • We noticed that project box 3 also is continuously occupied. Aaron will write Oleksandr.
Filament-unwind-dry-box.jpg

3D Printer

Does the Lab want one of those Filament unwind and dry boxes (e.g. for the Lambu)?
An use case would be if someone needs his filament over couple of days in a row. He/she could leave it in that box on the printer while someone else can use the existing unwinder for their print job.
Costs would be (incl. Hygrometer): 30,-€ --Phier (talk) 16:05, 24 January 2025 (UTC)

  • We felt like this might soon be continously occupied like the storage boxes, which would not be ideal. But we approve to spend €30 as it might be useful to print super hygroscopic filament.
  • Alex noted that he is mainly missing a feed sensor for lambu as at the moment the printer won't stop on blocked filament.

65" 4K TV for the Lab

Peter mentioned on Slack that he could donate a 65" 4K TV to the Lab.
Do we want it as a replacement for our current 42"-ish Wohnzimmer TV? The current TV could then replace the presentation TV at the electronics corner.
Possible costs: About 15€ for a new remote (since it's not included). About 40€ for a new stand/wall mount if the included one doesn't fit on our wall. --Phier (talk) 16:05, 24 January 2025 (UTC)

  • Approved by everyone
