20250213 Plenum
The Plenum is a regular meeting of all people involved with the space to talk about things and decide stuff.
If you have any topics to add, go right ahead! Please sign your points with your name (by adding a "--~~~~" after your text).
After the Plenum, please follow the tasks outlined in Cycling the Plenum to archive the discussion.
Preamble
- The Plenum is an institution to decide what the space should look like, physically and in other ways, such as virtually.
- Things concerning the space should be discussed at a plenum.
- Everyone on-site can participate in that process, member or otherwise.
- Everyone can lead a plenum; no need for board members to do that.
- Topics should ideally be announced on the Plenum wiki page beforehand.
- The Plenum should be held in a language that everyone participating understands.
- Scheduling: Second Thursday of the month at 8 pm and the last Sunday after the cleanup (which starts at 11 am)
- Plenums should be no longer than 90 minutes.
Next Plenum: Thursday, Feb 13 at 8pm

Projects & Groups update
This is a quick update from group meetings at our space, other long-term space projects (e.g., Lasercutter, CNC, etc.) or of the lab internal projects.
Kitchen
- The kettle has actually been purchased
- Bernhard will try his best to fix the wiring next to the sink so that it won't be as likely to blow the fuse because of splashing
General updates
Some stuff and improvements that have been recently happened
- Our Wiki got some new features like visual editing, which makes it much easier and faster to adjust things.
- Multiple Wiki pages got re-organized and properly assigned categories. Via the main page it should be possible to find the most important stuff: Main Page
The main categories are: Category:Organization, Category:Project, Category:Purchases, Category:Infrastructure and of course: Category:Plenum - New paper towel holder have been installed in the community area and next to the electronics corner. Existing parts have been re-used, might be worth to make a nicer version later, if the positions have been proven to be good.
- A lot of consumables have been filled up (e.g. Electronics Corner, Screws, Zip Ties, Duck Tape, etc.)
- PC components shelf has been sorted out.
- New label maker is available at the electronics corner.
- Workshop got some improvements with the existing boxes. E.g. Dremel and its accessories got new boxes and are now better sorted.
- A lot of boxes for stuff, that are on top of the shelves, got lids, so stuff doesn't get dusty.
- Cabling at the entrance has been improved and multi sockets have been installed (on both sides).
- New cable holders are available in the electronics corner (laser cut with template from the internet).
- Sorting in the electrical corner is progressing well.
- The Lambu has a new unwind & keep dry Filament box. It can be used to unwind any Filament spool but is designed especially for hygroscopic materials.
- Next to the laser cutter is now a flip-chart for documenting the values for cutting/engraving different materials. Feel free to extend and edit them.
New Things to buy list
New wiki page to better organize purchase of missing stuff: ThingsToBuy
=> Lab Supply List Workflow:
- Add Needs: If something's missing or planned for the lab, add it to the list.
- Combine Purchases: Before buying anything online or in-store, check the list. If you can combine items, confirm the need with the requestor.
- Cycle List: When the list gets long, create a new list from the template, copying over any open items.
This list is meant to be a "todo" list - so a list of things that were already approved
Vorstand updates
Say Thank you
- Adrian for bringing a new water kettle to the lab.
- Philipp for removing the Ulrich Unlimited Z 3D printer.
- Philipp & David for the new flip-chart for the laser cutter.
- Milian for sorting the electronics corner and making some drawers for the components.
- Milian for labeling basically everything.
- Aaron for refilling the hand cleaner dispenser.
MiniJobs
If you want to be mentioned at the previous section as well, one of the easiest ways is to take one of our MiniJobs. This is a great way to participate in the Munich Maker Lab e.V. and contributing time helps keeping our space in a good shape. You can find all information about the scope of the available jobs on MiniJobs.
Stuff from the past
What was discussed at the last Plenum? What's the current status of those things? 20250126 Plenum
- There is a cable for our mains power in now - it's not connected yet though
- There are some metal shelves in one of the project boxes => they'll move to "free to take" now
Workshop - Which tool would you need for your project?
For your current or upcoming projects which tool/machine regarding subtractive manufacturing* would you need which we don't have yet?
Which materials should it handle?
* = e.g.: Shaper Origin, CNC mill, Maslow (hand router on strings)
Possible Donations
- From the same Source as the TV, we could get a proper mechanical, professional Dart board with cork backing and made-for-darts lighting. Without Darts though. Do we want that? - Tarwin
- We sadly don't have the capacities of making the dart board playable for "non-professionals" without risking a bunch of broken darts and personal injuries :(
- We can get a Xerox Printer as replacement for the broken one. Nico and Tarwin can get it next week (would nee to rent a Miles Van, estimate 15-45€). The old one needs to get discarded, anyone?
- David offers to drive the old printer away
- We approve
Vending Machine
Valentins bought a mechanic vending machine:
- we postpone this for now but are open to adding it to the space
- Todos would be gathering good ideas of what to put in it so it is a meaningful addition to the (hopefully soon to be repaired) existing machine, our MuMaExpress
- David will establish contact between Jonas and Vallentin so that they might share "Vending machine duty"
- it would be a good replacement just incase the other vending machine is irrepairably broken
- We will continue next plenum
Anything you don't feel comfortable with within the space? What would you like to change or to be changed?
- One digital caliper (Messschieber) and the laminator is missing. Who has it or knows where it is? --Phier
- It seems the heating still gets turned of at 10pm which makes the space get cold in the night
- Somebody should look into repairing the emergency exit sign
Things for Newsletter, Social Media & Website News
Introduce Loomio poll
Things to Buy
- Slot nuts with spring for alu profiles (Laser Cutter). Due to the spring they stay in place and don't slip around like the current ones. 50 pieces for 12€: https://amzn.eu/d/i5XfGRe --Phier (talk) 13:25, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
- Approved
- Wood screws > 80mm, some metal hardware as well => 150€
- Approved
