The Plenum is a regular meeting of all people involved with the space to talk about things and decide stuff. If you have any topics to add, go right ahead! Please sign your points with your name (by adding a "--~~~~" after your text).

After the Plenum, please follow the tasks outlined in Cycling the Plenum to archive the discussion.

Preamble

  • The Plenum is an institution to decide what the space should look like, physically and in other ways, such as virtually.
  • Things concerning the space should be discussed at a plenum.
  • Everyone on-site can participate in that process, member or otherwise.
  • Everyone can lead a plenum; no need for board members to do that.
  • Topics should ideally be announced on the Plenum wiki page beforehand.
  • The Plenum should be held in a language that everyone participating understands.
  • Scheduling: Second Thursday of the month at 8 pm and the last Sunday after the cleanup (which starts at 11 am)
  • Plenums should be no longer than 90 minutes.

Next Plenum: Thursday, Nov 14 at 8pm

Topics for the Plenum

What are you currently working on?

  • ChrisB: building a meshtastic node for the space, and some speakers
  • Jan: Installing a Lego ToyPad to the MuMaDisplay, Writing DDR for the N64, Considering building some streaming hardware into his storage box so that we could do streams if we want to
  • Chris: Is working on his membership form
  • Max: IT Sicherheitsschulung
  • Chris K: Still working on his Crazy Kart
  • Birra: Compiling Blender for Raspberry Pi 5
  • Allesandro: Staying Alive (ah ah ah ah)
  • Vallentin: Building his Meshtastic Repeating Node
  • Phier: Putting wings on the Cabinet he built; Installing Homeassistant
  • Milian: 3d Printing a bunch and repairing his Bike
  • Adrian: Running around the space and helping people with 20 different projects

Projects & Groups update

This is a quick update from group meetings at our space, other long-term space projects (e.g., Lasercutter, CNC, etc.) or of the lab internal projects.

Vorstand updates

  • Kreativlabor Open 2025 - Planned for the weekend 23/24/25 May. Let's discuss what we can do!
    • let's create a slack channel to gather Ideas and maybe make a schedule - we could maybe make a small thing to "make" for people who are interested
  • Construction for updated electrical wiring

Starting from 03.12.2024 they need 3m of space on our wall facing the yard, to do the necessary works. Will check with them in the next days. Let's keep this in mind for our end-of-november cleanup, where we will rearrange the respective stuff.

Say Thank you

  • David for fixing the Weller soldering iron (by soldering it with the other Weller soldering iron <3)
  • Adrian, Chris, Milian for re-hanging the black curtains as insulation on the doors and testing the heaters.
  • Adrian & Phier for replacing the broken light in the laser & 3D printer lounge.
  • Adrian and Chris for setting up the DVD Logo
  • Adrian and Valentin for setting up the MuMaDisplay

MiniJobs

If you want to be mentioned at the previous section as well, one of the easiest ways is to take one of our MiniJobs. This is a great way to participate in the Munich Maker Lab e.V. and contributing time helps keeping our space in a good shape. You can find all information about the scope of the available jobs on MiniJobs.

Stuff from the past

What was discussed at the last Plenum? What's the current status of those things? 20241027 Plenum

  • Currently waiting for a response from BambuLab on possibilities to get a better deal for an additional printer. (Please discuss in the Loomio section, so we can setup a poll as soon as we get a response.) --David (talk) 18:28, 14 November 2024 (CET)

Christmas tree

The holiday season is approaching pretty fast now so I have to ask this question:
Does the Lab want a Christmas tree?
If yes, a real one or a plastic one? (Plastic would be more sustainable in the long term)
If we get one shall we do some fancy project with it, like a portal Christmas tree or a RGB LED one? --Phier (talk) 22:51, 6 November 2024 (CET)
For example:

A 215 cm large one is currently on Kleinanzeigen for 60€. Update: Sold
185 cm for 50€
210 cm for 70 €

Freifunk Meetup

The Freifunk every second wednesday of the month, but only every second month (next would be 11.12) (approved unanimously)

Anything you don't feel comfortable with within the space? What would you like to change or to be changed?

  • One of the big IKEA boxes on the 3D printer shelf is completely empty because all of the Lab-Filament fits in the second box. We could label and use the empty one for member Filament so it's stored in a dry environment (and not in a members box in the rather moistly pit). --Phier (talk) 08:51, 8 November 2024 (CET)
    • We'll use it as temporary Filament storage (write your name on it and the current date - if that is )

Things for Newsletter, Social Media & Website News

Introduce Loomio poll

  • Bambu Printer:
    • We'll choose the P1S (as decided on the Plenum unanimously right now)
    • The poll will go up at least 1 Week before the Bambu Holiday sale goes

Things to Buy

  • 100€ for a Christmas tree (as tall as possible) (Phier is gonna buy it) (voted for unanimously)
  • 60€ max for LEDs on the Tree (voted for unanimously)
  • 40€ for an SSD for the MuMaDisplay (approved)

Request for online participation

If necessary, you can request to participate remotely (via jitsi). Please briefly describe why you want to participate remotely and what topic you want to discuss. (additionally to adding the topic on top!)
