Topics for the next Plenum
Preamble
* The Plenum is an institution to decide what the space should look like, physically and in other ways, such as virtually.
* Things concerning the space should be discussed at a plenum.
* Everyone on-site can participate in that process, member or otherwise.
* Everyone can lead a plenum; no need for board members to do that.
* Topics should ideally be announced on the Plenum wiki page beforehand.
* The Plenum should be held in a language that everyone participating understands.
* Scheduling: Second Thursday of the month at 8 pm and the last Sunday after the cleanup (which starts at 11 am)
* Plenums should be no longer than 90 minutes.

Next Plenum: Thursday, May 9th at 8pm
Tell everyone about your current projects.

Thank you
Let's say thank you to those who did some awesome stuff for the space since the last plenum

* Cecile for the awesome flyers, again! So great.
Topics for the Plenum
* Matthias for taking care of a gigantic pile of trash
* Everyone who helped with Make Munich, as part of the booth, the bar, volunteering and organizing the whole thing
* Jan for a generous donation to the space

Projects & Groups update
This is a quick update from group meetings at our space or other long-term space projects (e.g., Lasercutter, CNC, etc.)
* I've finally gotten around and tried out the cutter plotter silhouette portrait 1 and can confirm it is indeed not broken and fully functional. The Blade seems a bit dull though so I got a replacement to try it out. * Not really a project update, but a quick call for sponsors for a university project in which I'm involved. We are part of the WARR (Wissenschaftliche Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Raketentechnik und Raumfahrt, which translates to “Scientific Workgroup for Rocketry and Spaceflight”). Our specific group is called WARR MOVE, and we are building small satellites called CubeSats for space exploration. We are currently working on the mission MOVE III, a 3U satellite with an in-house-built bus system and an in-house-developed payload called DEDRA that should study micro space debris in low Earth orbits. The first two missions, First Move and MOVE II / MOVE II b, were launched a while ago, and we are still communicating with and controlling one of the satellites. Due to the recent restructuring of the university chairs and WARR becoming its own e.V., we didn't receive any funding for the projects this semester, as we are no longer part of any university chairs, and developing satellite technology without any budget is a bit hard, to say the least :D. It should get better in the comming semester when the restructuring of the chairs is done but we need to somehow bridge the gaps. So, we are currently actively searching for sponsor companies or associations that would like to support us in our efforts. It doesn't need to be much, and any funding/advice would help. In return, we could put your company's logo on our sponsor's list, provide deliverables and progress reports/updates, and more. I currently cannot promise anything, but I could ask our PR team about the conditions if interested and check if other parts of WARR might have already been in contact. If you know any companies or associations that might be interested, or persons to contact, please write me on Slack or email or speak directly with me. Thank you. --Spacezhang (talk) 00:44, 8 May 2024 (CEST)

Update on Laser status
Vorstand updates
Hopefully by the time of the Plenum, the laser will be fully operational again. This was not the case previously, and even though it was communicated in Flowdock, some people did not adhere to it. This is sad, but also means we have to communicate such statuses of equipment much more clear.

The laser filter is finished, costs are made transparent on the laser air filter wiki page. We are however missing a piece of MDF that was supposed to be used as a door for the fan cabinet. Does anyone know where that might be? --Tiefpunkt (talk) 13:28, 17 May 2017 (CEST)

Textiles!
MiniJobs
Lots of members want to do more with textiles! We want to establish a fixed day for textile workshops / meetup.
If you want to be mentioned at the previous section as well, one of the easiest ways is to take one of our MiniJobs.
If enough people are interested, we should buy some equipment, and maybe we find some old sewing machines in our cellars.
This is a great way to participate in the Munich Maker Lab e.V. and contributing time helps keeping our space in a good shape.
Interested people: Cecile, Raquel, ThomasE, Nico, Peter, and even some external people (Anna Blumenkranz)
You can find all information about the scope of the available jobs on MiniJobs.

Waste Separation
We should take care about our environment and do a better waste separation. It is also in our own interest as the situation with the waste is still not 100% clear at the Kreativquartier and we have to avoid the waste hills. We can only bring it to the Werkstoffhof if we have a clear separation of wood, paper / cardboard boxes, glass, plastic, electric waste.
We should build a trash with different bins. Proposal: Build something out of wood where we can put in the large, blue plastic bags.

2 wheeled things at the space
Anything you don't feel comfortable with within the space? What would you like to change or to be changed?
As of writing, there are 3 bikes (with or without motor) in the space. Some have been here longer than others, but in general it's not quite sure what's the plan with them --Tiefpunkt (talk) 20:24, 15 May 2017 (CEST)

Storage at the storage space
Our member shelves are full, but we need to make space for more members. Also people have requested space for larger things. How do we deal with all of that? --Tiefpunkt (talk) 20:24, 15 May 2017 (CEST)

Some ideas:
Things for Newsletter, Social Media & Website News
* We build a storage solution where people can rent bigger storage units
** What do we build?
*** Available sizes?
*** Similar to Werkbox3 Boxes?
** How much "rent" would storage space cost?
** Where do we put it?
* We get the member shelves back to full height.
* We start slowly replacing the IKEA boxes with Euroboxes 40cm x 30cm x 22cm -> Same volume but not as tall, means we can fit more into the shelves.
* We go from 3 boxes per person to 2 boxes per person in the shelves -> still more than before the move
* Standardized boxes, IKEA or Eurobox, everything else gets kicked out of the shelves. Transition period of 1 or 2 months?
* For the textile stuff (see above), we get some shelving that can be shut to save it from the dust in the rest of the space
* Projects can ask the Plenum for free storage space, for a limited amount of time

HEi Birthday Party
The Haus der Eigenarbeit (short HEi) is celebrating their 30th birthday this year. To celebrate, they are doing a "Do it together" festival on Orleansplatz on July 8th. They asked us to be a part of that. How's going to lead the effort? --Tiefpunkt (talk) 19:03, 16 May 2017 (CEST)

* I have access to a moderate amount of wooden planks (package dimensions roughly 70x30x30 cm, I'll bring them with me to look at). They are from two old Lattenroste (slatted frames?). I'd like to donate them to the space and store them in the pit. The motivation is that many of our plant boxes in the yard are in a pretty bad shape and likely require extended repairs or even rebuilds in the next 1-2 years. I will be likely involved with that and I reckon that the wooden planks could be useful, especially as new wood got quite expensive. I'd label them and restrict the storage to one year for now. If at any point the pose a problem, I can and will easily dispose of them either at Treibgut or the Wertstoffhof. Total Cost 0€. --Aaron (talk)

Projects & Groups update

This is a quick update from group meetings at our space or other long-term space projects (e.g., Lasercutter, CNC, etc.)
