Code Of Conduct
This code of conduct is there to make sure everyone can have a good time in our space. Regarding the use of the premises and machinery of Munich Maker Lab, you can find a set of rules and guidelines in our wiki: Law and Order.
- Be welcoming, inclusive and try to be helpful. Talk to each other.
- Respect the physical and emotional boundaries of the people in your surroundings, whatever your intentions are. This implies changing your behavior if a person informs you you’re making them uncomfortable.
- Support productivity.
- Be aware of the space you occupy, including the influence of your actions on others.
- Ask before taking pictures or making recordings of anything or anyone identifiable.
The Munich Maker Lab wants to provide a harassment-free experience for everyone. We do not tolerate harassment in any form.
Harassment includes, but is not limited to:
- Comments, actions or visual displays which demean, harass or insult someone by targetting their race, creed, ethnicity, age, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, neurodiversity, mental illnesses, physical appearance, ability or knowledge
- Inappropriate sexual images in public spaces
- Deliberate intimidation, stalking, following and threats of violence
- Intentional disruption of talks, discussions or other events
- Inappropriate physical contact
- Unwelcome sexual attention
- Advocating or encouraging any of this behavior
- Misgendering
- Outing of personal information
Persons asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.
If a person engages in harassing behavior, their actions can be sanctioned, up to and including expulsion from all MuMaLab spaces and identification of the participant as a harasser to other MuMaLab members or the general public. The severity of consequences is to be decided by the plenum or by the board in collaboration with the awareness team, depending on the sensitivity of the issue. Temporarily, the awarenessteam is entitled to enact consequences by themselves.
Awareness Team
The Awareness team is a group of five elected members which are there to help, support and mediate conflicts regarding the code of conduct. The Awareness team is entitled to take the necessary, temporary measures to prevent conflicts from escalating.
You need help?
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact the Awareness Team at awareness@munichmakerlab.de or reach out to them individually in person/via slack. They're here to help and will handle your issue confidentially. If a person who is part of the conflict is on the team, they will recuse themselves from handling your incident. Alternatively, you can contact the members of the board at vorstand@munichmakerlab.de.
