The Plenum is a regular meeting of all people involved with the space to talk about things and decide stuff. If you have any topics to add, go right ahead! Please sign your points with your name (by adding a "--~~~~" after your text).

After the Plenum, please follow the tasks outlined in Cycling the Plenum to archive the discussion.

Preamble

  • The Plenum is an institution to decide what the space should look like, physically and in other ways, such as virtually.
  • Things concerning the space should be discussed at a plenum.
  • Everyone on-site can participate in that process, member or otherwise.
  • Everyone can lead a plenum; no need for board members to do that.
  • Topics should ideally be announced on the Plenum wiki page beforehand.
  • The Plenum should be held in a language that everyone participating understands.
  • Scheduling: Second Thursday of the month at 8 pm and the last Sunday after the cleanup (which starts at 11 am)
  • Plenums should be no longer than 90 minutes.

Next Plenum: Thursday, July 13th at 8pm

Topics for the Plenum

What are you currently working on?

  • German: 3D printer
  • David: tyding out the cellar
  • Theresa: Build some stuff on a bus
  • Peter: Reading stuff about Oberfräsen
  • Chris: 3D printing bike components
  • Aaron: Ham radio
  • Subham: E paper dogtag
  • Klaus: virtual stuff
  • Jackie: Building a headboard from pallettes

Projects & Groups update

This is a quick update from group meetings at our space or other long-term space projects (e.g., Lasercutter, CNC, etc.)

  • Laser seems to be working reliably now

Say Thank you

  • Aaron and German for disposing the e- and metal waste
  • Aaron for taking good care of the plants
  • (I think) Bira for cleaning the kitchen towels
  • German for cleaning the Yard after the storm
  • Everyone who took good care of the community area and kitchen - despite the many users
  • German for restocking the consumables in the workshop

MiniJobs

If you want to be mentioned at the previous section as well, one of the easiest ways is to take one of our MiniJobs. This is a great way to participate in the Munich Maker Lab e.V. and contributing time helps keeping our space in a good shape. You can find all information about the scope of the available jobs on MiniJobs.

Stuff from the past

What was discussed at the last Plenum? What's the current status of those things? 20230625 Plenum

  • Addition to the door ruling for the laser cutter door: The original plan was to install heating/climate to keep the room at an even temperature. While this would still be desirable, it is a project. Until this is resolved, I suggest adding a statement that keeping the door open for 10 Minutes while no Machine is running should be acceptable during summer. In my opinion, keeping the workshop door open is not a good option (even more dust will find its way to the main room) and is unnecessary (if too hot, just open the gate). --ⓒ②② (🅃🄰🄻🄺) 12:17, 13 July 2023 (CEST)
    • approved unanimously
  • We talked about getting the book about electronics. Severin already received them and will put the copy in the space soon
  • There is some work going on to do workshop introductions again, stay tuned!

Anything you don't feel comfortable with within the space? What would you like to change or to be changed?

  • The grey plastic cable pass-through thingies on the community area tables always fall out and are annoying. If there is a consensus we could decide on one of two things:
    • 3D print replacements and glue those in directly to the wood (i.e. remove the plastic frame as well)
    • also remove the plastic frame and make a fitting part out of wood and glue that in

      • approved unanimously. Anyone who whants to do it feel free to go ahead!

Call for Ideas regarding an Oberfräse

Peter is thinking about buying a Oberfräse (hand router) because he wants to learn using it and do some projects. He is open do depositing it here so Members can use it as well. There were some ideas about getting an Oberfräse in the past for the space in general, but there are some caveats associated with it (e.g. teaching how to use it). Maybe we can find some good ideas. For using the routerlift some accessories would also be nice, but they need room --Aaron (talk) 19:58, 13 July 2023 (CEST)

Things to Buy

  • We need to buy more blue roll, we are down to our last spare and so we need another pack --AliG
    • Just talk to the workshop PoC, see the door. In this case: Ordered, this is a consumable :) --ⓒ②② (🅃🄰🄻🄺) 12:09, 13 July 2023 (CEST)
  • Donation from Klaus: A barely used reflow kit from beta layout and a hot soldering station. Both will replace our existing counterparts which each are broken in some ways.
