Thank you

Let's say thank you to those who did some awesome stuff for the space since the last plenum

  • Cecile for the awesome flyers, again! So great.
  • Matthias for taking care of a gigantic pile of trash
  • Everyone who helped with Make Munich, as part of the booth, the bar, volunteering and organizing the whole thing
  • Jan and the Hackathon Team for a generous donation to the space
  • Adrian for fixing the laser safety system
  • ThomasE for bringing euro boxes

Stuff from the past

What was discussed at the last Plenum? What's the current status on those things? 20170504 Plenum

Anything you don't feel comfortable with in the space? What would you like to change or to be changed?

Is there anything that's bothering you?

Update on Laser status

Hopefully by the time of the Plenum, the laser will be fully operational again. This was not the case previously, and even though it was communicated in Flowdock, some people did not adhere to it. This is sad, but also means we have to communicate such statuses of equipment much more clear.

The laser filter is finished, costs are made transparent on the laser air filter wiki page. We are however missing a piece of MDF that was supposed to be used as a door for the fan cabinet. Does anyone know where that might be? --Tiefpunkt (talk) 13:28, 17 May 2017 (CEST)

We'll Laser-Cut a few signs "This device is broken!" and place them on machines when they are.

In addition we could create a status page to show on the screens in the space.

3D Printing

Don't change and save printer profiles! Unless you know what you're doing...

Status of our printers:

  • x350 is working fine
  • Neo is broken - Jörg will look into it
  • X400 is broken - ThomasE knows the status but he's in Asia

Textiles!

Lots of members want to do more with textiles! We want to establish a fixed day for textile workshops / meetup. If enough people are interested, we should buy some equipment, and maybe we find some old sewing machines in our cellars. Interested people: Cecile, Raquel, ThomasE, Nico, Peter, and even some external people (Anna Blumenkranz) -- Tarwin (talk) 13:22, 8 May 2017‎ (CEST)

We need:

  • Sewing machine (Nico is trying to bring a broken one)
  • Scissors
  • Iron
  • Ironing table
  • Closable shelves

Next step: Make a plan!

Waste Separation

We should take care about our environment and do a better waste separation. It is also in our own interest as the situation with the waste is still not 100% clear at the Kreativquartier and we have to avoid the waste hills. We can only bring it to the Werkstoffhof if we have a clear separation of wood, paper / cardboard boxes, glass, plastic, electric waste. We should build a trash with different bins. Proposal: Build something out of wood where we can put in the large, blue plastic bags. --Siedi (talk) 16:02, 9 May 2017 (CEST)

We will do: Wood, Plastic, Metal and Paper

Nico will buy "Mörtelwannen" and build a structure for them.

News from the hackathon team

The Hackathon Team was successful again. 3rd Place @7hack means we got five VR Goggles and 250€ in Amazon Cards for the space. Also we finally got the 1000€ from a previous hackathon. We want to find ideas how to spend the money. -- Jan

Possibly we'll buy more tools for the hackathon team, Transport cases, a "Messetand", a set of monitors which are all the same for which we can build a good case so we can transport them easily,...

Next Hackathon is June 9th

Hackathon Team Hardware Tower

IMHO the treatment of the hackathon teams hardware is not okay. I want to talk about that -- Jan

The Hackathon stuff is currently the most used pile of hardware we have and people are complaining about it consuming space.

There is other stuff thats not working and nobody is complaining about that.

We need a concept on what should stay in the space and where to put it.

2 wheeled things at the space

As of writing, there are 3 bikes (with or without motor) in the space. Some have been here longer than others, but in general it's not quite sure what's the plan with them --Tiefpunkt (talk) 20:24, 15 May 2017 (CEST)

Storage at the storage space

Our member shelves are full, but we need to make space for more members. Also people have requested space for larger things. How do we deal with all of that? --Tiefpunkt (talk) 20:24, 15 May 2017 (CEST)

Some ideas:

  • We build a storage solution where people can rent bigger storage units
    • What do we build?
      • Available sizes?
      • Similar to Werkbox3 Boxes?
    • How much "rent" would storage space cost?
    • Where do we put it?
  • We get the member shelves back to full height.
  • We start slowly replacing the IKEA boxes with Euroboxes 40cm x 30cm x 22cm -> Same volume but not as tall, means we can fit more into the shelves.
  • We go from 3 boxes per person to 2 boxes per person in the shelves -> still more than before the move
  • Standardized boxes, IKEA or Eurobox, everything else gets kicked out of the shelves. Transition period of 1 or 2 months?
  • For the textile stuff (see above), we get some shelving that can be shut to save it from the dust in the rest of the space
  • Projects can ask the Plenum for free storage space, for a limited amount of time

Decition if we want to move from three to two boxes: All in favor

Decition to move to Euro-Boxes or Ikea and remove the rest: All in favor

what grace period we will give: One month

We might get another bunch of euro boxes for free otherwise they would be around 7€ incl. lid. The boxes we currently have are for space stuff like tools so don't take them!

There will be a survey to see who's interessted in a "werkbox" and what sizes we should offer. Also ask if someone is interessted in renting space for sheet-goods for the laser cutter. Once we know that and if there is a demand we'll think about the price.

Nico will bring a shelf for free to use stuff.

We'll stack the shelfes next to the rented area to double their height.

Shelfes that cannot be stacked will be removed.

The area we clear out will then be used for a cabinet for sewing stuff.

Stuff to buy

  • Buy some Filament 130€ -- Nicolai 13:57, 12 May 2017‎ (CEST) Non-Premium!

We need a new 3d print cash box - Theo

Buy Filament and think about a new price - Jörg

  • Bierzeltgarnituren (LEO says it might be "beer garden sets" in english), 2 sets --Tiefpunkt (talk) 19:03, 16 May 2017 (CEST)

Heiko asked some breweries and there is the chance of getting some for free but only after the Octoberfest

A new one is 110€ netto (incl. benches)

We had a vote and most voted to buy two sets with 70cm tables

All but two voted to buy a book

We'll do a bulk order - https://wiki.munichmakerlab.de/wiki/Group_Buys

The space

After the plenum there has been a discussion about the current state of our storage space.

It has been said that $people lost interesst and motivation in doing stuff to make our space more awesome because of the current situation with us not having a contract and it being only a storage space.

We're still no party location and can't do public workshops but we can use the space and that's the important part.

We agreed to continue building out the space, make it beautiful and keep it clean!

An initial cleanup/kickoff will be set up in the next 2 weeks or so and everybody is invited to think about stuff that can be improved.

Start using Trello again to plan your actions!

There has been the idea to have different groups of people that are the main responsible persons for specific areas in the space.

They should make sure that $stuff is working or add a sign if something isn't, show people how to use things if they need help, clean up the area if needed, ...

Events

HEi Birthday Party

The Haus der Eigenarbeit (short HEi) is celebrating their 30th birthday this year. To celebrate, they are doing a "Do it together" festival on Orleansplatz on July 8th. They asked us to be a part of that. How's going to lead the effort? --Tiefpunkt (talk) 19:03, 16 May 2017 (CEST)

Streetlife

We can still use some help so signup in the wiki - https://wiki.munichmakerlab.de/wiki/Streetlife_Festival

Would be great if somebody could be in the space on Saturday at 11am to load the truck.
