Wiki page intro
This wiki page helps the people running on-site member on-boardings to remember what to talk about/to cover.
Community Area
- Introduction round
- Open principle (be welcoming, space status on,...)
- Everyone is invited and encouraged to help on projects around the space
- Do tour the space for other people
- Doing workshops and teaching people is great (+ we have a framework for it, if you don't want to organize it)
- Breaking stuff is not bad, but not letting anyone know is
- Explain rules (law and order page, code of conduct)
- Space status (how to operate it, where it shows up)
- Door lock (brief intro how it works)
- Kids without supervision
- When leaving: check kitchen door, turn off status, check electronics corner, close front door (there is a sign on the door what else to check)
- Garbage collection (cardboard, metal, electronics) - where to dispose of cardboard + general waste, do not bring any trash (electronics etc) from home, NO special waste (paint, batteries etc) disposal.
- Vending machine
- Sewing stuff
- Free 2 use stuff
(Wood/Metal) Workshop
- Stuff has its place, please put it back where you took it from
- Clean up after yourself ("leave space cleaner than you found it"-principle)
- You are welcome to clean up if someone leaves something behind
- There are locked machines, take the course (where to find the courses)
- In case you don't know how to use a tool, always better to ask (on #workshop) before performing work
- Always use the workshop vac for anything dusty (you must use the dust extraction)
- The rules around what personal protection equipment to wear (sign next to the door) are obligatory
- Slack: #workshop (please join if you use it)
Storage
- Lasercutter storage (3 months, name and date) - only for laser cutting material
- 2 member Euro boxes (400/300/220)
- project pallet (tidy, needs to fit) name and date for 7 days (larger stuff - plenum), a pile of material is not a project
Machines at the spact
- Laser cutter (courses, pricing, cashbox)
- 3d printer (courses, bring your own filament)
- CNC (point of contact)
Gaming area
- pinball machine
- fridge for drinks is for space drinks only, explain how it works (self-change etc)
- Slack: #wohnzimmer
Kitchen
- dishwasher use it
- fridge (rules are on the fridge)
- toilet key next to fridge (lock door and put key back after usage)
- take towels home to clean them
- Slack: #kitchen (please join if you use it)
Electronics Corner
- Keep it tidy; put stuff back where you took it
- Wash your hands
- No foods/drinks
- Slack: #electronics-lab
Stuff
- Explain how we decide what new tools to get, how to "donate" stuff etc (plenum if bigger than eurobox)
- Insurance for stuff that you lend to the space
- Stuff on a mission (lending stuff is not a problem and use it at home for a few days, use your brain for what to take and be reasonable about the time you lend it)
- Down in the pit (storage for the Euro boxes)
- Big wooden boxes (private member boxes)
Being active at the space
- Join the open Thursdays + Sunday plenums
- Participate in cleanups (before Sunday plenum)
- Participate and run workshops
Questions?
- List of Contacts on the wiki is a great starting point and covers contacts for many topics
- (Open end for questions)
