While we don't have a huge amount of space available for storage (as we try to use most for tools and equipment) there is a variety of storage options.

  • Member Euro-Box
  • Project Pallet
  • Lasercutter Sheet Material Storage
  • Storage Box

Member Euro-Box

Every member is eligible for having two euro-boxes for materials/equipment. These are stored in the pit (entry to the basement between the laser cuber and the storage box row across the gaming area). To make moving more manageable, we have agreed that just two standard euro boxes (size 40 x 30 x 22 cm, about 20L) are allowed. You pay for the boxes and they stay your property. Please note your (unique) name on BOTH short sides of the box, so the board of members knows who to contact. The boxes need to remain stackable - that means you can not fill them above the border!

Project Pallet

This is the standard way to store projects you are actively working on. It is located between the laser cube and a row of storage boxes. There is a couple of things to note:

  • This space is "first come, first serve" - if it's exhausted, you will need to take your project home
  • It is limited to one euro pallet - so please be mindful of the space you use
  • There is a 7-day time limit so everyone gets the chance to work on bigger projects

Please make sure to note your name and date clearly visible on your project (and all parts that belong to it). Items that are on here for more than 7 days become free2take automatically - so make sure to look after your projects :-)

Project Box

This pilot project was decided on the 20230528 Plenum - all details are subject to change at any time. Members can temporarily use one of the previous member boxes to store larger projects. There are one big ("full-size") and two small ("half-size") boxes available. To claim a box, please read the following rules and use the list on the door to claim it:

  • The Project Boxes are "first come, first serve".
  • You can have one temporary Project Box at the same time.
  • Be considerate and do not take a Project Box if your project easily fits on the Project Pallet.
  • When claiming a box you must store a Project in there. First, bring your project, build, and then claim a storage box. (Just storing material is not a project.)
  • There is a 7-day time limit, and it is strictly enforced - your stuff becomes free2take and WILL be removed from the box after 7 days without further notification!
  • Please do not put a lock on the door. We will regularly check if the boxes are in use so we can reallocate boxes that are free or not used in accordance with these rules.
  • Doors need to be fully closed and you can not have any items stick out (just like with any other boxes)

Members are asked to clarify conflicts (e.g. other members claiming a box for 3 or more consequent weeks) by talking to the member directly. Should you have any questions, issues, or feedback about this program, please speak to German (on Slack or in person).

Lasercutter Sheet Material Storage

The Lasercutter Sheet Material Storage is located at the entrance. This space is meant for laser materials only and works very similar to the project pallet, but with a storage lifetime of 3 months instead of 7 days. Please make sure to note your name and date clearly visible on your materials. Items that are in the shelf for more than 3 months become free2take automatically.

Storage Boxes

If your member euro boxes are not large enough, you can rent an additional storage box, or parts of it. Currently it's 40 EUR per complete box, though renting only one half of a box is possible. The basic design plans are here: Storage Box. Build a box yourself will give you some free storage time. If you are interested in renting just talk to the board of members.
