We need a place to carefully store all the wooden and acrylic plates we cut in our laser.

Requirements

  • Size: Sheet size usually 100x80, so this is the minimum
  • The sheets have to be stores on a plain, stable surface. We don't want to have the sagged material you typically get from the Baumarkt.
  • We need several shelves to sort the material and get easy access to them (min. 3?)
  • A few of our members want to store their own sheets and would rent space for it. Means maybe 3 additional shelves.

Proposal 1: Horizontal Mounting

Plattenlager.png

Description:

  • It is based on an Europalette with the size of 120x80cm. We can easily move it with the forklift then.
  • In the bottom, there is room for the waste (small Mörtelwannen) separated in acrylic and wooden parts maybe.
  • We add several shelves on top of it. Depending on the gap, we can have 6-8 of them.
  • For each shelf, we use wooden slats instead of flake boards, Otherwise the whole construction might become to heavy.

Advantages:

  • Material lies flat on the ground and cannot bend.
  • We can just pile up in the high and have more space.
  • Easy to build
  • Cheap

Disadvantage:

  • Plates are lying on each other, so it becomes a little bit more difficult to get them out (when sorted, should not be a problem).

Costs:

For the base construction

Europalette 1 - € - €
OSB Platte 800x675x12mm 2 - € - €
OSB Platte 1230x675x12mm 1 - € - €
OSB Platte 2050x675x12mm 2 3,30 € 6,60 €
Holzlatte 200x5,8x7,8cm 4 - 2,98 € 11,92 €

That is roughly 20 €.

For one shelf:

Latte 120x4,8x2,4cm 6 - € - €
Latte 250x4,8x2,4cm 3 0,80 € 2,40 €
Latte 80x5,8x3,8cm 2 - € - €
Latte 200x5,8x3,8cm 1 1,48 € 1,48 €

That is roughly 4 € per shelf.

With 6 shelves the total amount is 44 €, with some chevrons and screws, roughly 50 €
