Rules Review
For the previous Plenum, Cécile and Severin compiles a list of past plenum decisions that have resulted in rules for the space. You can read them again at Rules. Since the last plenum, you've had some time to review what's in there. Anything that's missing? Anything that we should change? Let's finalize this so we can get it summarized, printed, and placed somewhere in the space. --Tiefpunkt (talk) 11:34, 22 January 2018 (CET)
The Rule that smoking cigarettes including e-cigarretes is prohibited in the space is missing in that list. This rule was nevertheless decided some time ago at a plenum (when we were still renting at the Italian school). This rule should be aded to the list for sake of completeness. --Eax (talk) 01:15, 25 January 2018 (CET)

The rules regarding smoking are mentioned on the page Law_and_Order, so we can consider a merge of this two pages, if there isn't a reason to have two with a similar function.
As Law_and_Order is mentioned in our Onboarding process it might be better to keep it short and simple but refer to the new rules page. Alternatively, we can move the most important rules for new members directly to Onboarding and refer to Rules

Dust collection for the workshop
Saws and other things create a lot of dust in the workshop. We do have a shopvac, but plugging that into each and every machine is a bit tiresome. Are there any plans about a central dust collection system yet? If so, what do they look like? If not, what should we do? I'm thinking some 100mm drainpipe all around the shop, some flexible tubing to plug in machines at the two workshop tables without having to place the shopvac on the table or anything like that, and a central collection point where we for now can plug in our shopvac, maybe with the cyclone collector inbetween, but the option to put in something bigger in the future. What do you think? --Tiefpunkt (talk) 11:34, 22 January 2018 (CET)

Arduino Day 2018
There'll likely be an Arduino Day on Mar 31st this year again. Do we want to participate in that? What would we want to do? --Tiefpunkt (talk) 11:34, 22 January 2018 (CET)
Data for recent laser jobs / Laser cutter conditions
Adrian is currently in Australia and twittered a nice idea from the Hackerspace in Perth.

They implemented the idea that everyone using the cutter writes the current settings (Material, thickness, power, speed) he used on a board. This might be a good addition for our material sample book, and facilitate finding right settings. One implementation might be, to only write down the new settings, if the last working settings for the specific material no longer work, or a new material is used. With this system, it'll be easier to monitor the degradation of our laser.
Keys
More of an information than a discussion point: I've started making a list of locks & keys we have in the space, and who has which keys. The list is at Keys, and if you can think of anything with a look that's not just a personal storage box, please add it to this list. Thanks --Tiefpunkt (talk) 23:24, 23 January 2018 (CET)

Things to Buy
Revision as of 22:22, 25 January 2018

The Plenum is a regular meeting of all people involved with the space to talk about things, and decide stuff.

If you have stuff to add, go right ahead! Please sign your points with your name (by adding a "--~~~~" after your text).

Preamble

 • The Plenum is an institution to decide on what the space should look like, physically and in other ways, such as virtually.
 • Things concerning the space should be discussed at a plenum.
 • Everyone who's there can participate in that process, member or otherwise.
 • Everyone can head a plenum, no need for board members to do that.
 • Topics should ideally be announced on the Plenum wiki page beforehand
 • The Plenum should be held in a language that everyone participating understands.

Next Plenum: January 11th, 2018, starts around 15:00h (?) after the annual general assembly

Topics for the Plenum
