Minijobs are a great way to participate in the Munich Maker Lab e.V. and contributing time helps keeping our space in a good shape. The minijobs are completely voluntary but we ask you to take care of the described "ToDo's" if you decide to take over one of them.

How To: Every minijob is for a whole month, there is a board on the workshop door where you enter your name and take over it. Of course you can share your duties, so feel free to take over a minijob with your friend and split the ToDo's.

It is important that especially for the area (workshop, e-corner, gaming corner) related minijobs it is not solely your job to clean up after others. Make sure to post any bad state to #general in slack and create awareness.

Here is a list of the individual minijobs with descriptions of what needs to be done:

Workshop

Requires ~30 minutes of time per week, recommended to do weekly

  • Make sure that the workshop is in a condition where people can work and it is presentable to visitors
  • Put any tools and equipment back into the designated shelves
  • Sweep off the tables
  • Check for condition of tools and report broken tools to the Plenum
  • Check consumables (sanding paper, welding supplies, ...) and purchase if necessary

E-Corner

Requires ~15 minutes of time per week, recommended to do weekly

  • Make sure that the e-corner is in a condition where people can work and it is presentable to visitors
  • Put the soldering tools back into the shelves
  • Clean the tables and soldering mats with a moist cloth
  • Check consumables (soldering iron tip, solder, de-solder braid, ...) and purchase if necessary

Kitchen

Requires ~45 minutes of time per week, recommended to do weekly/multiple times per week

  • Keep the stove and back pipe clean and useable
  • Descale the water heater
  • Make sure the dish washer is being emptied and filled
  • Clean the kitchen surface thoroughly once a week
  • Check consumables (Dish washer supplies, dish soap, hand soap, grabage bags, sponges, kitchen roll, toilet paper) and purchase if necessary

Community

Requires ~15 minutes of time per week, recommended to do weekly

  • Put everything on tables in the "Zeug vom Tisch" crate
  • Rotate the "Zeug vom Tisch" crate once a month. Take a picture of the crates and post it to #general when rotating.
  • Clean all tables (excluding workshop and the table in the soldering corner) with a moist cloth

3D-Printers

Requires ~10 minutes of time per week, recommended to do bi-weekly

  • Make sure that the 3D printer corner is in a condition where people can work and it is presentable to visitors
  • Update the wiki (IP adresses, working status, notes)
  • Try to be around on Thursdays so people can ask questions and get an introduction

Gaming corner

Requires ~10 minutes of time per week, recommended to do weekly

  • Make sure that the gaming corner is in a condition where people can relax and it is presentable to visitors
  • Make sure nothing is being stored and if necessary move stored items onto the project pallet (make sure it has a lable with date and moved from gaming corner)
  • Clean the tables, couches and rug

Waste station & trashcans

Requires ~10 minutes of time per week, recommended to do weekly

  • Make sure the waste station waste is correctly seperated
  • Bring out the paper waste and empty all trashcans

Washing the (tea) towels

Requires a washing machine, ~10 minutes of time every second week, recommended to do bi-weekly

  • Take the dirty tea towels from the kitchen and the dirty towels from kitchen, dirt sink and workshop home and wash them

Courtyard sweeping

Requires ~20 minutes of time every second week, recommended to do bi-weekly During summer/nice weather:

  • Sweep the courtyard with a broom
  • Dispose any waste that is in front of the space
  • Take care of our plants in front of the space

During winter:

  • If you are around, try to keep the entrance free of snow

Fridge cleaning

Requires ~10 minutes of time per week, recommended to do weekly

  • Check best-before date and clean out anything that is expired OR without a visible name
  • (Monthly) Clean out the fridge with a moist cloth

Drinks

Requires ~15 minutes of time per week, recommended to do weekly (summer)/bi-weekly (winter)

  • Check if enough drinks are still in the fridge or in the storage crates
  • As a rule of thumb the fridge should be full with drinks and the crates empty, then it is about time to oder new drinks
  • Make a list of drinks to order, decide how many crates of the following drinks are ordered:
   - Club Mate Cola:
   - Spezi
   - Johannisbeersaft:
   - Rhababer:
   - Apfel:
   - Club Mate:

We do not order alcoholic beverages at this time. Once the list is compiled, send it to David. The drinks are usually delivered 2 working days after the order has been placed.

  • Make sure that the empty crates are properly sorted
  • Make sure the delivered drinks find their way into the fridge.
