In order to show what's going on at and around the space, we've decided to create a weekly newsletter.

We started archiving them here, more recent newsletters can be found in the Mailinglist Archives.

Previous years:

Please contribute to the newsletter, by posting to #newsletter in our Slack, or by adding content directly, as described in our HowTo.

Plenum

Our shortest Plenum ever, with only 20 minutes runtime! You can find the protocol here: https://wiki.munichmakerlab.de/wiki/20170126_Plenum

Member Stuff and Space Shutdown reminder

we already took one of the work tables in the middle of the space out and set up pallets for you to start packing your stuff on. Again, please put your member boxes (up to three) on there. They have to be closed with a lid, taped shut, and properly labeled. Everything that's not on there until Feb 12th is fair game for give-away for donations, which will be for building the new space.

Plenum

Very very efficent plenum this week. Find the meeting minutes right here: https://wiki.munichmakerlab.de/wiki/20170119_Plenum. Important takeaways in the following sections.

Member Stuff and Space Shutdown

Beginning of February (or in the last days of January), we'll take out the two work tables in the middle of the space, and replace them with Europallets to start packing together stuff. Please put your member boxes (up to three) on there. They have to be closed with a lid, taped shut, and properly labeled. Everything that's not on there until Feb 12th is fair game for give-away for donations, which will be for building the new space.

Lost & Found

If you have lost something at the space, and it hasn't shown up until now, please consider putting it up on this wiki page: https://wiki.munichmakerlab.de/wiki/Lost%26Found. Chances are we'll find it during the space cleanup and teardown, so if it's on that list, we can return it to you, instead of giving it away.

ToDo lists

We'll try to organize space todos in Trello now: https://trello.com/mumalab. If you want write access, please contant Matthias or Severin.

Laser Materials

We got some new stock of MDF for the laser cutter. Sadly the prices increased a bit as we got these from the Hardware Store, not on bulk sale. New Prices are:

    • MDF 3mm: 5€
    • MDF 5mm: 6€

Plenum

We had a plenum this Thursday again. Here are the meeting minutes: https://wiki.munichmakerlab.de/wiki/20170112_Plenum. Make sure to check out the presentation on what the new space could look like.

Make Munich 2017

This year's Make Munich is coming up. Let's show some awesome stuff, and hopefully do some more awesome things as well. Participate in the planning on flowdock (https://www.flowdock.com/app/mumalab/make-munich-2017) or in the wiki (https://wiki.munichmakerlab.de/wiki/Make_Munich_2017)

3D printers

3D printers were being fixed this week. The Neo and the X350 are back in operations, and Karim's Ultimaker was seriously being worked on Thursday. Awesome!

SHA2017

~10 members are already signed on to go on the SHA2017, a hacker camp/festival/conference in August this year. If you want to stay in the loop, join #sha2017 in flowdock! You can get a ticket here: https://sha2017.org/

CW 01

Plenum

We had a Plenum on Thursday (as every Thursday for the next few weeks now). Here are the meeting minutes: https://wiki.munichmakerlab.de/wiki/20170105_Plenum

Personal stuff at the space

One important point from the Plenum: We'll have space to move the amount of 3 of our standard IKEA boxes to the new space, and will also use that as the amount everyone should be able to store at the new space, until we have found a new storage solution. If you have more, please make sure to clean that out, take it home, or throw it away within the next few weeks

LED projector conversion

Our projector lamp broke a few weeks back. Heiko, Nicolai, Peter and Rene took on the task of converting that to one bright LED. Check it out right here: http://log.munichmakerlab.de/post/155592638795/the-lamp-of-our-trash-found-beamer-finally-gave The LED (25w AC cob) turned out to be not bright enough. If you have something bigger sitting in a box and want to help the efforts, contact them.

Broken 3D printers

The Neo and X350 are out of order, until further notice. Please don't try to fix them yourself (that broke them in the first place), and get in contact with ThomasE and Joerg if you want to help.

CNC Furniture

Peter and Severin have been working on some open source furniture things. Peter built a full-size chair: https://www.instagram.com/p/BO9ZBylBiTh/ and Severin some models for tables and stools. Check those out at the space
