SDS 1202X-E Oscilloscope

A digital oscilloscope for electronics work (troubleshooting, repairing, reverse-engineering, etc).

Specifications

  • 200MHz frontend, 1Mohm
  • 1 gigasample per second (divided by two if using both channels)
  • Maths operations (+/-/integrate/FFT/etc)
  • Protocol decode (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, LIN)
  • USB A port for data storage / screenshots
  • USB B port and LAN port for remote control and data acquisition
  • 2x 200MHz probe (with hook and ground clip), generic, branded PP215

Location

Scope is on the workbench.

Probes are in the 'Messleitungen' drawer in the back of the electronics lab.

Safety

  • The scope is grounded! Do not connect the ground lead to any voltage potential on the electrical grid.
  • Do not use the oscilloscope as a blunt weapon.

Tips

  1. Press 'Default' (above the Vertical control) to reset to known good settings
  2. Set probe to 10x (in the scope's channel menu and on the probe itself) for better signal integrity
  3. The scope is currently legless, prop it up against something for a better viewing angle
